District 4AAA Champion Farragut Admirals advanced in postseason play with a Region 2AAA victory over the visiting Knoxville Central Bobcats, 11-1 in 5 innings. The Admirals eliminated the Bobcats (D3AAA runner-up) despite surrendering a first-inning homer to Central’s Rodewald. The Admirals returned the favor on Bryce Burkey’s blast over the right field wall and a double by Tanner Kim in the first inning.

Farragut Admirals Varsity scored four runs in the third inning. Kim had an RBI single in the inning to lead the run scoring.

Senior Hunter Merrick pitched Farragut Admirals Varsity to victory. The lefty pitched a complete game, five innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out eight and walking none.

Farragut Admirals Varsity totaled 14 hits. Burkey, Garrett Brewer, Eli Evans, Angus Pence, Kim, and Parker Evans all had multiple hits for Farragut Admirals Varsity.

The Admirals will travel to Powell on Wednesday (time TBA) to take on the Panthers for the R2AAA Championship. Powell eliminated HVA 2-1 on Monday night.
