Despite seeing its seven-run lead whittled down by the end, Farragut still held off Sevier County for a 7-5 victory on Friday. Seemingly in good shape with a 7-0 lead through 5 innings, Sevier County mounted a spirited comeback, scoring 2 runs in the sixth and 3 in the seventh to draw close. Eli Evans came to the mound with runners on first and second, and retired the last 2 Smoky Bear batters to end the game.

With the win, the Farragut Admirals return to the State Tournament in the TSSAA Spring Fling at Murfreesboro. This is the Admirals third trip to the Tournament in a row, and 21st overall. The Admirals have claimed 10 State Championships overall.

Jaxson Pease led the Admirals to victory on the hill. The pitcher went five and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on six hits, striking out six and walking only one. Stratton Scott and Eli Evans entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.  Evans recorded the last two outs to earn the save. Ellis Gleed made a great play on a grounder to third to end the game.

Farragut Admirals Varsity fired up the offense in the second inning. Jett Johnston hit a towering solo homer to left-center to stake the Admirals to an early 1-0 lead

Farragut notched four runs in the fifth inning.  The Admirals’ big bats were led by Jake Merrick and Mark Underwood, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Merrick, Johnston, Underwood, and Davila each managed two hits to lead Farragut Admirals Varsity.
