Farragut claimed a lead they wouldn’t surrender in Friday’s nightcap of the 2022 Scott Dean Memorial Tournament on Eli Evan’s 2-run homer. McCallie had taken an early lead via a homer in the top of the second inning.
The Admirals (13-7, 5-0 D4AAAA) tallied four runs in the fifth inning. Farragut batters contributing to the big inning included Jack Alley, Gavin Brewer, Mark Underwood, and Lukas Buckner, all driving in runs in the inning.
Reid Thomason was credited with the victory for the Admirals. The pitcher allowed four hits and one run over four innings, striking out two. Cole Draper and Kam Sanders entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
