The Admirals defeated Christian Academy of Knoxville Warriors 3-0 on Monday as five pitchers combined to throw a shutout, in a game played at Hawkins Field at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.

In a game that was briskly played (1 hour, 27 minutes) the pitching was strong on both sides. Farragut pitchers struck out five, while CAK pitchers sat down four.

Farragut (20-11-1, 8-2 D4 4A) got things moving in the second inning, when an error scored one run. After Eli Evans’s double, Garrett Brewer smashed a ground ball to short which was mishandled allowing Evans to score. Jake Merrick’s single later scored Ellis Gleed, courtesy runner for Brewer.

Jaxson Pease was the winning pitcher for Farragut. The pitcher surrendered no runs on one hit over two innings, striking out one and walking none. A number of pitchers entered the game as relief, with Braylon Hall, Evans, Michael Delph, and Eli Miller all securing outs and ultimately the victory. Evans recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Farragut Admirals Varsity.

Lukas Buckner led Farragut Admirals Varsity with two hits in three at bats.
