Lukas Buckner collected five hits in five at bats, as Farragut Admirals defeated Flagler Palm Coast Varsity Bulldogs 12-2 on Tuesday.  Buckner doubled in the first, singled in the third, doubled in the fourth, singled in the fifth, and singled in the seventh. By virtue of the victory, the Admirals won their pool of the Florida League HS Invitational Tournament, and move to the semifinals on Thursday.

Farragut Admirals (3-0) got things started in the first inning.  Jett Johnston’s sac fly scored one run for Farragut Admirals.

Flagler Palm Coast Varsity Bulldogs knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the second inning.  Jesse Baugher drove in one when Baugher singled.

Farragut Admirals pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning.  In the third Michael Delph drew a walk, scoring one run and Jake Merrick singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Farragut Admirals tallied five runs in the fifth inning.  The offensive firepower by Farragut Admirals was led by Gavin Brewer, Cole Draper, Buckner, and Johnston, all driving in runs in the inning.

Brodie Roberts earned the victory on the hill for Farragut Admirals. The bulldog went four innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out five and walking one.  Johnathan Venero threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Farragut Admirals racked up 12 hits on the day.  Buckner, Brennon Seigler, and Merrick each racked up multiple hits for Farragut Admirals.
