A walk-off double led Farragut past Powell 6-5 on Wednesday night at the Ballpark at Farragut. The Admirals were down 5-4 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Lukas Buckner doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs. Jake Merrick and Jack Alley reached base on infield errors, followed by Mark Underwood’s single to center, loading the bases. Buckner came through, driving the ball into the right field corner to score Merrick and Alley, giving the Admirals the win.

Farragut earned the victory despite allowing Powell to score four runs in the third inning. Farragut drew closer in the fourth inning, scoring 2 runs with 2 outs. Then the Admirals knotted the game up at four in the bottom of the sixth inning when Landis Davila’s single drove in Buckner, who had drawn a walk earlier.

Michael Delph was credited with the victory for Farragut. The righthander surrendered one run on one hit over four innings, striking out four. Braylon Hall started the game and the righty lasted three innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out three and walking one.

Farragut Admirals Varsity racked up seven hits. Davila and Buckner each managed two hits to lead Farragut Admirals Varsity.

With the victory, the Admirals earned the right to host Friday’s section against Sevier County. Come on out to the Ballpark and cheer the Admirals to the State Tournament!!
