Farragut built a seven-run lead in the second inning and then held off Knoxville Catholic’s charge for an 8-6 victory on Friday.

There was plenty of action on the basepaths as the Admirals collected seven hits and Knoxville Catholic matched them over the last 5 innings.

Farragut (17-1, 6-1 D4AAA) got things moving in the first inning, when Parker Evans scored on a wild pitch. The Ads tacked on more with a couple of bases-loaded walks. Landis Davila’s groundout plated Brennon Seigler, and Jake Dallas’s single drove in Hunter Merrick.

Knoxville Catholic scored three runs in the fifth inning. The big inning for Knoxville Catholic came thanks to a single by Lutterman and a double by Breeden.

Jake Wurms was the winning pitcher for Farragut. The lefty allowed one hit and one run over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking one. A number of pitchers entered the game as relief, with Matthew Kilbey, Ben Johnson, Michael Delph, and Trevor Wade all securing outs and ultimately the victory. Delph recorded the last three outs to earn the save.

Kaden Martin took the loss for Knoxville Catholic. The hurler allowed three runs on one hit.

Lukas Buckner, Parker Evans, Hunter Merrick, Brennon Seigler, Bryce Burkey, Jake Dallas, and Kim all had one hit to lead Farragut Admirals Varsity.
