Farragut stayed in it until the end, but Baylor pulled away late in an 11-6 victory on Friday, April 29. Baylor trailed 6-5 in the top of the sixth inning when Mock Whitcomb homered on a 2-0 count, scoring three runs.

Despite the loss, Farragut did collect five hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Baylor had 12 hits on the way to victory.

In the first inning, Farragut got the offense cranked up when Mark Underwood led off by reaching on an error, and Brennon Seigler walked. Landis Davila’s 3-run shot to right field got the Admirals off to an early lead.

After a couple of groundouts, Garrett Brewer’s double was followed by Jake Merrick’s double, scoring another Admiral run.

Jett Johnston started the game for Farragut, going 2.2 innings, allowing three runs on three hits and striking out three. Ben Johnson took the loss. The pitcher surrendered four runs on four hits over one and one-third innings, striking out one and walking none.

Jake Merrick, Johnston, Brennon Seigler, Garrett Brewer, and Davila each collected one hit to lead Farragut Admirals Varsity.
