The Admirals cruised to a run-rule 14-4 win over the West Rebels on Tuesday, as the Class of 2023 Admirals were recognized in a pre-game ceremony. Ellis Gleed, Jett Johnston, Matthew Kilbey, Keeton Lyell, Griffin Mashburn, Eli Miller, Cole Palmer, Kam Sanders, Cooper Schulze, Ashton Sulack, Mark Underwood, and Jonathan Venero have made their mark on the legacy of Admiral Baseball being on the very first Class 4A State Championship team.

Farragut fired up the offense in the first inning, when Jake Merrick singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

After West Rebels Varsity scored three runs in the top of the fourth, Farragut (23-6 6-3 D4 4A) answered with three of their own.  West Rebels Varsity scored when Nance drew a walk, scoring one run and Hunter doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.  Farragut Admirals then answered when Jett Johnston hit a solo homer and Cooper Schulze doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Farragut Admirals pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning.  Mark Underwood doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run, Lukas Buckner tripled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, and Landis Davila grounded out, scoring one run.

Farragut Admirals put up four runs in the third inning.  Farragut Admirals put the pressure on, lead by a walk by Merrick, a single by Ellis Gleed, and an error on a ball put in play by Davila.

Kam Sanders got the win for Farragut Admirals. Sanders went three and a third innings, allowing three runs on four hits, striking out four and walking one.  Eli Miller, Brodie Roberts, and Keeton Lyell all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.

Farragut Admirals had 15 hits in the game.  Gleed, Brennon Seigler, Buckner, Underwood, and Merrick all managed multiple hits for Farragut Admirals.
