Farragut fell 8-4 to the Bartlett Panthers in a Thursday evening affair despite out-hitting them seven to six. This game was played as part of the 2022 Smoky Bear/Demarini Invitational.
The Admirals mounted a comeback in the bottom of the 7th evening but couldn’t overcome Bartlett’s 8-run lead, putting up three runs in the seventh inning. Jett Johnston, Jake Merrick, and Landis Davila knocked in runs in the inning.
Bartlett scored three runs in the fifth inning on a home run to left-center by Mark Mabry. The Panthers added 3 in the 5th, and 2 more in the 6th to create their big lead.
Jackson Irwin earned the victory on the mound for Bartlett. Mason Little threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Johnston took the loss. The righthander surrendered two runs on 1 hit over 3.2 innings, striking out eight. Kaleb Toon, Eli Evans, and Ben Johnson also pitched for the Admirals.
Jack Alley went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Farragut Admirals Varsity in hits.
