Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Wednesday as Farragut  outscored Bearden 25-10 in five innings.  The teams banged out 34 hits hits between them, as well as 14 for extra bases.

The biggest inning for Farragut Admirals Varsity was the first. In the inning Farragut Admirals Varsity scored 13 runs. The Admirals scored on an RBI single by Chase Chambers, a three-run double by Nico Mascia, an RBI single by Gabe  Waldrop, a two-run single by Roy  Mutta, an RBI single by Chase Fullington, a walk by Duncan Pence, an RBI single by Nico Mascia, a sacrifice fly by Sam Schulze, an RBI single by Cole Morgan, and an RBI single by John Painter.  The Ads sent 19 batters to the plate in the top of the first inning.

Even though Bo Baker allowed 10 runs over two innings he still recorded the victory. He struck out none, walked two and surrendered 10 hits.

Farragut Admirals Varsity easily handled Bearden pitching as eight hitters combined for 20 hits, 20 RBIs and 21 runs scored.

Walsh ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed eight runs in one-third of an inning, walked one and struck out none.

Farragut Admirals Varsity added two more runs in the top of the second. A bases loaded walk scored Chase Chambers for the inning’s first run. That was followed up by Cole Morgan’s single, scoring Duncan.

Bearden scored four runs in the bottom of the third to cut its deficit to five. A solo home run by Beam, a solo home run by Cameron, an RBI double by Thomas, and an RBI double by David Beam set off Bearden rally. Finally, Ben Rutter got Duncan to ground out to end the threat.

Farragut Admirals Varsity increased its lead with nine runs in the fifth. The inning got off to a hot start when Roy  singled. That was followed up by Chase Chambers’ double, bringing home Roy Mutta.

The Admirals advance to next week’s Region 2 Tournament, hosting the D3AAA runner-up Karns Beavers, in the Region semi-final, Monday, 6:30pm at the Ballpark at Farragut.  The game will be broadcast on WUCP-LP, FM99.9.  Should the Admirals win, they will host the Region 2 Championship on Wednesday.
