The Admirals watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 7-2 loss to Oak Mountain on Friday. Oak Mountain scored on a sacrifice fly by Mathew Hieberger in the first inning, a single by Hieberger in the second inning, and a double by Peyton Parkinson in the second inning.
Oak Mountain added to their early lead by scoring four runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught by Oak Mountain was led by Hieberger and Parkinson, who each had RBIs in the inning.
Matt Heflin (Junior) was on the mound for Farragut Admirals (8-3, 1-1 D4 4A). The righty allowed four hits and five runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one. Michael Delph (Junior) threw four and a third innings in relief.
Farragut Admirals launched one home run on the day. Jake Merrick (Junior) put one out in the fourth inning.
