Wednesday’s game against Hardin Valley Academy Hawks was a heartbreaker for Farragut Admirals, as they lost the lead late in an 8-6 defeat.  HVA was down 6-5 in the top of the sixth inning when Carson Hoffmeister doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

The Admirals (14-5, 3-3 D4 4A) jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning on Jake Merrick’s RBI single, followed by Jett Johnston’s no-doubter grand slam to Kingston Pike.

Farragut Admirals collected six hits and Hardin Valley Academy Hawks Varsity had six in the high-scoring affair.

Ashton Sulack started on the hill for Farragut Admirals. Sulack carried a one-hitter into the sixth inning, but ran into trouble. Sulack pitched 5.0 innings, allowing three hits and four runs while striking out six. Cole Draper and Reid Thomason pitched in relief.

Micah Hoffmeister started the game for Hardin Valley Academy Hawks Varsity. The righthander allowed six hits and six runs over four innings, striking out two

Landis Davila had a dinger in the fourth inning. At that point, the Admirals had a comfortable lead at 6-1.

Colton Denton took the win for Hardin Valley Academy Hawks Varsity. The pitcher lasted three innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out four.

The Admirals continue the homestand with a Friday game against Combine Academy (NC) at 5:30, followed by an 11:00am Saturday vs. Combine Academy. That will be followed by a 1:30pm matinee against CAK.
