Farragut Admirals came from behind to capture a blowout 13-7 win in seven innings.  The Admirals scored six runs in the fourth on a two-run single by Gabe  Waldrop, a two-run double by Chase Fullington, and an RBI single by Duncan Pence.  Chase Fullington had two doubles on the night, finishing 4-for-5 at the plate.

Thomas Keyes relieved Eric Lessig in the second inning and racked up seven strikeouts in the Farragut Admirals Varsity win. Keyes allowed no earned runs, five hits and no walks over 5 1/3 innings, taking the D4AAA Tournament victory.

Tyler Thompson ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss.

In the bottom of the second, Hardin Valley Academy grabbed the early lead, 4-0. Hardin Valley Academy caught fire after Zach Sears singled. Then Anthony Gambuzza singled, plating Branum. HVA then tacked on more runs when Gambuzza scored on an RBI single by Harris,  scored on a single by Smoak, and Harris scored on an RBI single by Ion Pung.

Farragut Admirals Varsity scored single runs in the fifth inning and the seventh. In the fifth, Farragut scored on a wild pitch, bringing home Chandler Chambers, running for Nico Mascia,who had doubled to start the inning.

Two unearned runs in the bottom of the fifth helped Hardin Valley Academy close its deficit to 7-6. A two-run error set off Hardin Valley Academy rally. But, Keyes got a ground out to end the inning.

Farragut Admirals Varsity piled on five more runs in the top of the sixth. A double by Chase Fullington ignited the offense, scoring Roy  Mutta.

The Admirals advance to Wednesday’s D4AAA Tournament Championship, as well as next week’s Region 2 Tournament.  The Admirals will face the loser’s bracket survivor.  Tuesday’s games in the D4AAA tournament will see Bearden vs. William Blount in 5:00 elimination game, with the winner taking on HVA at 7:30.  The survivor will advance to play FHS on Wednesday, needing 2 victories over the Admirals for the District championship.  Wednesday’s game(s) will be broadcast on WUCP LP FM99.9 and wucplp.com.
