Farragut defeated Thomas Worthington (Columbus, OH) 10-0 on Saturday as the 2022 5 Star Preps/Scott Dean Memorial Tournament concluded. Two Admiral pitchers combined to throw a shutout.
Farragut cranked up the offense in the first inning. Lukas Buckner led off with a double and scored on Brennon Seigler’s single to left field. After Jake Merrick was HBP, and Jett Johnston walked, Eli Evans drove in 2 runs with a double to right-center. Garrett Brewer’s single later scored Johnston.
Ben Johnson was credited with the victory for Farragut Admirals Varsity. The lefthander lasted four innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out four and walking zero. Lewis threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Farragut launched one home run on the day. Garrett Brewer went deep in the third inning. Brewer also went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Farragut in hits.
