The Farragut Admirals held on to a win against the Collierville Dragons on Wednesday to remain in the Class 4A State Tournament winner’s bracket. The Admirals took an early lead in the second inning after Collierville had scored 3 in the top of the inning.

Farragut took the lead in the third inning going up 4-3, on a bases-loaded walk by Mark Underwood, a 2-RBI pop-up single to right by Lukas Buckner, and a single by Brennon Seigler in the second inning.

Stratton Scott was the winning pitcher for Farragut. Scott surrendered six runs, only 1 run was earned, on five hits over five innings, striking out two. Braylon Hall threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Hall recorded the last six outs to earn the save.

The Admirals extended the lead to 7-3 in the third inning, when Jett Johnston led off with a walk, followed by a one-out single by Jack Alley to left, and Garrett Brewer’s walk. Jett Johnston scored on an error, and after Lukas Buckner worked on base by a walk, Brennon Seigler drove in the eventual game-winning runs on a solid single through the left side, driving in Jack Alley and Ellis Gleed.

Seigler went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Farragut Admirals Varsity in hits.

The Admirals will play the Riverdale-Collierville winner at Oakland, now scheduled for 30 minutes following completion of that game, which has been delayed until 1:00CDT due to weather in the area. The game will be broadcast on WFIV FM105.3, wfiv.com, FM90.7 in the Oakland HS area.
