Farragut Clinches Lead in Sixth Inning for Friday Victory Over Combine Academy, 8-7
With the game tied at seven with the Admirals batting with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth when Jake Merrick was hit by a pitch, driving in the eventual winning run.
Farragut Admirals collected seven hits and Combine Academy Goats High School had five in the high-scoring affair.
Farragut opened up an early lead in the second inning when Brennon Seigler’s sac fly scored one run. Farragut notched three runs in the second inning. The offensive firepower was led by Gavin Brewer, Lukas Buckner, and Seigler, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Matt Heflin started on the mound for Farragut. The righthander allowed 1 hit and 2 runs over 2 innings, striking out 3. Relief pitching came from Ryan Wallace (2IP, 3H, 4R, 3BB, 3K), Matthew Kilbey (WP, 2IP, 1H, 1R, 2BB, 1K), and Braylon Hall (1IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 1K, save)
Farragut tallied two home runs on the day. Merrick had a homer in the fifth inning. Seigler hit his first Admiral dinger in the fourth inning.

On Saturday, the Admirals and Goats played again. Both teams were strong on the hill, but Farragut defeated Combine Academy 3-1. Admiral pitchers allowed just four hits to Combine Academy.
Farragut (16-5, 3-3 D4 4A) fired up the offense in the first inning. Farragut Admirals scored one run when Landis Davila doubled to left center driving in Lukas Buckner. The Admirals scored 2 more runs in the first, as errors by the Goats contributed to the scoring.
Michael Delph led things off on the mound for Farragut Admirals. Delph went six innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out nine and walking one.
Davila and Delph each managed one hit to lead Farragut Admirals.
