Despite allowing three runs in the first inning, the Admirals turned on the offense and defeated #1-ranked Houston 11-4 on Friday in the 2022 5 Star Preps/Scott Dean Memorial Tournament.

After Houston took an early lead in the first inning, scoring 3 runs, the Admirals countered with 2 of their own. After Lukas Buckner’s leadoff single, Brennon Seigler followed with a single, and Landis Davila walked. Jake Merrick’s sac fly scored one, and Eli Evans’s double to left scored another.

Farragut (12-7, 5-0 D4AAAA) pulled away for good with five runs in the third inning. Jack Alley homered on a 2-0 count, scoring three runs, Lukas Buckner doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Landis Davila singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Ashton Sulack started the game and lasted two innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out one and walking none. Eli Evans was the winning pitcher for Farragut. The righty surrendered no runs on two hits over three innings, striking out three and walking one. Braylon Hall threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Hall recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Farragut Admirals Varsity.

Farragut Admirals Varsity tallied two home runs on the day. Alley went for the long ball in the third inning. Garrett Brewer had a four bagger in the fourth inning.

Farragut Admirals Varsity tallied 18 hits. Evans, Buckner, Brennon Seigler, Mark Underwood, Davila, and Alley each collected multiple hits.
