Farragut Admirals Varsity seized victory in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off at the end of the game to topple Tates Creek. The game was tied at one with Farragut (5-3) batting in the bottom of the seventh when Jake Merrick was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Farragut Admirals Varsity pitchers struck out six, while Tates Creek pitchers sat down eight.

Matthew Kilbey earned the win for Farragut. Kilbey came on to pitch the 7th, and retired the 3 batters faced, striking out one.  Braylon Hall started the game for the Admirals. The righty went six innings, allowing one run on only one hit, striking out five and walking none.

The Admirals conclude play in the 2022 Smoky Bear/Demarini Invitational with a 1:00 game vs. Science Hill, defending AAA State Champions. That game will be followed at 3:30 by Science Hill vs. Jefferson County. The Admirals open District 4 AAAA play against Maryville at home on Monday at 6:30.
