Patrick Raby was great on Friday, throwing a no-hitter in Farragut Admirals Varsity’s 11-0 victory over Sevier County.  The 5-inning run rule victory propels the Admirals to next week’s Class AAA State Tournament in the Spring Fling in Murfreesboro.  This will be the Admirals’ 14th trip to the State Tournament in the last 16 years.

No Sevier County batter was able to locate Patrick’s pitches during the game. Patrick threw a no-hitter, striking out six batters and walking none while recording his momentous feat.  Raby allowed one Smoky Bear base-runner on a HBP, but he was erased on a double-play.  Raby faced the minimum 15 batters in his 5 innings of work.

The biggest inning for Farragut was the third.  The Admirals’  bats caught fire leading to seven runs. Farragut  scored in the third on 2 errors, a three-run double by Nico Mascia, a hit by pitch, and Gabe  Waldrop‘s sacrifice fly.

John Painter racked up four RBIs on one hit for Farragut Admirals Varsity.  He hit a 3-run double and pushed in a run on a walk.

Farragut added four more runs in the bottom of the fourth. The inning got off to a hot start when Nico Mascia doubled, bringing home Chase Fullington. That was followed up by John Painter’s double, bringing home Chandler Chambers, Chase Chambers and Cole Morgan.

The Admirals now advance to Murfreesboro.  The first State Tournament game will be Tuesday at either Oakland or Siegel High School.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2014 SENOIR ADMIRALS!!!!!
